Debtors take credit cards to task for allowing bets
Article Abstract:
Debtor bettors of online gambling have filed a class action lawsuit against MasterCard International and a bank credit card company for allowing bets on illegal gambling operations. Over 300 Internet sites have gambling or casino operations that companies defend as legal due to the absence of regulations that specify the nature of Internet gambling. MasterCard and credit card issuers recently settled a lawsuit filed by a woman gambler who lost $70,000 and used 12 credit cards.
