Exports stage rebound in August

Statistics Canada has reported that exports from Canada increased by one percent to $34.8 billion in August. Exports of aircraft, energy and motor vehicles accounted for the increase while forestry products declined during the same period.

Loonie 'kicking butt' as rising rates, oil prices spur currency

The Canadian dollar increased from 66.92 cents (US) on Mar 21, 2003, to 68.36 cents (US) on Mar 28, 2003. Higher interest rates and oil prices are credited with the change.
