Many Trucks, But Not All, Face Redesign In Safety Plan
Article Abstract:
The automotive industry has agreed voluntarily to improve the safety of sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks. It will require the redesign of these vehicles to meet new safety standards by 2009. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety believes that the redesign of front impact sections could save thousands of lives that are lost when SUVs and pickup trucks crash into regular automobiles.
