Mental health research 'fails'
Article Abstract:
The National Institute of Mental Health has failed to carry out its mission of supporting research into severe mental diseases such as schizoprenia and manic-depressive disorder, according to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. The advocacy group said the government agency spends more money on AIDS than on schizoprenia even as there are more Americans suffering from schizoprenia than from AIDS. Around 5.6 million people in the US have been diagnosed to be severely mentally ill.

Factory farms: Vermont dairy farm harnesses cow power
Article Abstract:
Blue Spruce Farm in Bridgeport, Vermont, started generating electricity in 2005 from cow manure, which was a threat to Vermont's air and water quality. Central Vermont Public Service (CVPS) has installed an anaerobic digester at the farm that breaks down manure in an airless environment, producing methane for generating electricity and odorless solids that can be used for cow bedding.
