Microbrewers are a case study of how the small survive
Article Abstract:
Amsterdam Brewing Co of Toronto, Ontario, has posted strong sales amidst the competitive stiff competition among microbreweries. The microbrewery sector posted an average pretax loss on total assets of 1.4% in 1997. However, Amsterdam Brewing leaned on its inherent strength such as strong individual service, loyalty to local business and its sophisticated European image to boost its customer base. The company is increasing its production to 16,000 hectoliters in 1999 from 12,800 hectoliters in 1998.
