N. American steel makers unite against cheap imports

North American steel makers are asking their governments to take action against cheap steel coming from Russia, Latin America and Russia. The steel industry welcomes anti-dumping cases resolved immediately. But beyond that there is little the Canadian, US and Mexican NAFT governments can do, than apply their own trade laws and be vigilant about dumping, according to Peter Clask, Ottawa, Canada, trade consultant.

Embraer unveils commuter jet plans
Article Abstract:
Aircraft maker Embraer S.A. has announced its plan to develop a line of 70- and 90-passenger commuter jets. The company said that it will make the final decision within four months on whether to proceed with the $750- million program. Embraer added that the planned aircraft would be faster, roomier and less expensive than Bombardier Inc's 70-seater Canadair regional jet.
