NWT Premier retracts comments on De Beers

Stephen Kakfwi, the premier of Northwest Territories, said that he apologizes for previous remarks that De Beers Consolidated Mines Ltd. may be trafficking in illegal diamonds from war-torn regions in Africa. Northwest Territories is seeking greater control over its natural resouces.
