Y2K lawsuits pile up before limits set in
Article Abstract:
Several bills have been proposed in Congress to prevent an onslaught of lawsuits related to the Year 2000 problem. The number of lawsuits have increased from five to 78 in the last 15 months, most of which targeted small and midsized software firms for alleged breach of contracts. However, more lawsuits are expected to be filed as the year 2000 approaches, particularly against computer hardware and insurance companies.
