Not dead, just stuffed
Article Abstract:
The research team at the University of New South Wales spent the last 25 years since 1980, discovering the fossilized bones, teeth and entire skeletons of many thylacines in the Riversleigh World Heritage fossil region in Queensland. Australian Museum geneticist, Dr. Karen Firestone, successfully cloned the molecular sections of thylacine teeth and bones in preserved museum specimens, and identified nuclear genes, as well as mitochondrial genes.
