Now a Message From a Sponsor Of the Subway?

Article Abstract:

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority is considering selling naming rights to bridges, tunnels, bus lines and subway stations to help meet anticipated budget shortfalls of over $1 billion in years to come. Some critics say the trend toward naming things after the highest corporate bidder rather than naming things after heroes reflects a general decline in American values, while others suggest that putting a private trademark on a public institution reduces the public's sense of investment in the quality of the institution in question.
