OSC won't hold exchange hearings
Article Abstract:
The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is not planning to conduct public hearings regarding the proposed reorganization of Canada's securities exchanges. OSC Chmn David Brown said that the planned reorganization has elicited positive responses from market professionals, and thus, there is no need to hold public hearings. The reorganzation would result in blue chip stocks being traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the derivatives on the Montreal Exchange, and the junior stocks on a single western-based exchange.
