The Australian federal election to be held on Oct 3, 1998, is supposed to be a democratic one but Australians have been granted a greater power. They have the right to approve and reject a change to the tax base and can transform the nature of parliament. Voters believe the Coalition's tax plan will be more likely to benefit the country.

One Nation has been placed last on the voting tickets by major Senate contenders including Liberal, National, Labor, the Democrats, and the Greens.
