Australia's security officers are given billions of dollars and tough new powers to wage war on terror. The ASIO, the domestic intelligence agency's budget exceeds $152million a year, with most of it spent tracking Islamic terrorism and also a significant proportion of the Australian Federal budget was spent on its increased counter-terrorism responsibilities.
