Paper chase: publishers reel from paper price hikes

The price of newsprint has nearly doubled since late 1993, which is forcing Canadian newspaper publishers to cut down on the width of their pages to control costs. Analysts expect the price of newsprint to reach the record $950/ton level by 1996, which will exacerbate the problem.
