Air Canada is negotiating with its pilots' union, the Air Canada Pilots Association, to avert a strike. The pilots' labor union, which has threatened to begin a crippling strike, is seeking wage increases and job security.

Jet maker layoffs may come as early as today
Article Abstract:
Bombardier Inc. and Air Canada are expected to announce layoffs, and Pratt & Whitney Canada Inc. said it intends to cut 600 jobs. Montreal and Toronto could be effected by these job actions.
