A Hong Kong correspondent for 'The Sydney Morning Herald' describes his visit to the tiny Andalusian village of Vejer de la Frontera in Spain in 1991. When he returned to the village after a gap of few years, he saw that Prime Minister Felipe Gonzalez was turning this ancient country into a modern euroland where there were modern restaurants and locals tending clientele in flawless English.
