Research partners: two teams, one study population

Article Abstract:

The two large research projects, Disease Management project and the Thrive study that examine different phenomena in the chronically critically ill population, which is funded by National Institute of Health have combined research teams. Each of this study maintains a separate database and budget, and the operational tasks for both grants are streamlined through the collaboration and cross training of all team members.

Evaluating the impact of case management dosage

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to evaluate the impact of intervention dosage on client outcomes in different case management models within substance abuse treatment. The results showed that, the clients who engaged in case management were less likely to have legal and family issues but more likely to have a chronic medical condition at baseline.

Health behaviors as mediators for the effect of partner abuse on infant birth weight

Article Abstract:

A research was conducted to explore the role of substance abuse and weight gain of less than 15 pounds during pregnancy as potential mediators of the relation between recent partner abuse and infant birth weight. The results reveal that recent physical or psychological abuse had a small but significant effect on birth weight.
