Rivers of sand
Article Abstract:
Australia's Murray Basin may hold valuable mineral sands. Australia has traditionally been a world leader in the exports of mineral sands such as rutile, ilmenite and zircon, but environmental problems and diminishing minerals have forced miners to cut back on activities on the east and west coasts. The basin covers 320,000 square kilometers northwest of Melbourne.
