CTV gives ESPN a veto on some NetStar operations
Article Abstract:
CTV has signed a shareholders' agreement with ESPN Inc. that outlined the conditions regarding its proposed acquisition of NetStar Communications Inc. Under the deal, CTV Inc. will give ESPN Inc. a veto on some of the important operations of NetStar. In addition, CTV will transfer the ownerships of its other sports broadcasting properties to NetStar Communications. ESPN currently owns 32% of NetStar.

Investors pan CTV for NetStar
Article Abstract:
CTV Inc has offered to acquire a 68% stake in NetStar Communications Inc for C$394 million, topping CanWest Global Communications Corp's C$370- million offer. The deal would merge the ownership of Canada's two sports specialty channels, the NetStar-owned The Sports Network and CTV's 40%- owned SportsNet. The deal will still need the approval of different regulatory bodies in Canada.
