The celebrated Russian poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko has written a work of prose fiction, entitled 'Don't Die Before You're Dead,' in which the events of the Aug 1991 coup against former Soviet leader Michael Gorbachev are depicted. Yevtushenko sees himself as a modern Alexander Pushkin.
