Seattle rallies around Microsoft

Article Abstract:

Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. is getting community support in the Greater Seattle area from companies, politicians and individuals concerned over a court-ordered breakup of the software giant. U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson is expected to order the dismantling of Microsoft.

Microsoft settles piracy case

Article Abstract:

Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp. has settled a software copyright infringement case with an unidentified retail chain in Canada. The case, which focused on piracy of Microsoft Office, will result in a payment to Mississauga, Ont.-based Microsoft Canada.
