Second Cup stirring up business
Article Abstract:
Second Cup Ltd. does not intend to make money from its project to offer coffee on planes, trains and grocery aisles. The Toronto, Canada-based specialty coffee retailer said the partnership with Air Canada and Via Rail during the past 18 months constitute a trial-run for the product. Randy Powell, CEO of Second Cup's Canadian operations, said the program to provide over 22 million cups in transit is meant to introduce the taste to passengers. Powell, a 37-year-old packaged goods executive, said his goal is to expand the chain of 355 cafes and outlets in Canada.
