Soft quarter doesn't derail retailer's plan
Article Abstract:
Liquidation World Inc, a Calgary, Alberta-based discount chain, is going ahead with its expansion plan despite reporting an 8.9% drop in first quarter 1998 profit to C$1.4 million from a year ago. The company plans to open 75 new stores in Canada and the US and beef up its Internet presence. Company president Dale Gillespie blamed the profit drop on a bad purchase from a major retailer in the US.
