Australian athletes who don't make their country's Olympic team are joining foreign teams in order to participate in the 2000 Sydney games. Sailors are choosing to compete for countries like Britain, which funds their sport better than Australia does. Australia has some of the world's top triathletes, but must narrow its team down to three competitors, leaving some triathletes to compete for other nations.
