Simon Brown, a 36-year-old emergency medicine specialist, performed immunotherapy that was proven effective in desensitizing patients to the venom of jack jumper ants. Brown suggests that immunotherapy would be useful to people throughout south-eastern Australia where the ants are prevalent.
