Telus (almost) free at last

When Telus made its $4.6 billion acquisition of Clearnet last October, Nextel Communications and Motorola agreed not to sell their combined 22.5 million shares of Clearnet for at least one year. Soon Nextel and Motorola will be free to sell those shares for much needed cash.

Telus Corp. CEO targets Videotron telecom arm

Darren Entwistle, the chief executive officer of Telus Corp., said his company studied the possibility of acquiring Videotron Telecom from Quebecor Inc. Entwistle said Telus would still be interested in such a deal providing the price were fair.
