Temp workers at Microsoft win lawsuit; benefits were denied to more than 8,000

Temporary employees have won a $97 million settlement in their class-action suit against Microsoft. The workers sued Microsoft for denying them benefits, maintaining that they were really permanent employees. The case was originally brought in Dec. 1992.
