A doctor should be consulted when rapid, unexplained weight loss occurs, the appearance of blood appears anywhere it should not be, bowel habits change, lumps or swollen glands lasting two weeks or more appear and the size or shape of the breasts or testicles changes. Other warning signs are also given.
