The end of a fragile peace: rampaging troops kill a Canadian

A Jul 1997 coup initiated by prime minister Hun Sen resulted in the deaths of at least 60 soldiers and civilians including Canadian Michael Senior, who had been born in Cambodia but raised in Canada since he was one year of age. Senior was shot as he photographed looting soldiers following the coup.

Were three stowaways thrown overboard?

Eight Filipino crew members of the Taiwan-registered container ship Maersk Dubai claim that three Romania stowaways were thrown overboard by Taiwanese officers in order to avoid paying fines of $7,000 per person to the Canadian government for transporting illegal aliens.
