Article Abstract:
Privatization of government services is a controversial topic. Privatization can include contracting out services, selling public assets, lease-back arrangements or voucher purchases. Privatization promoters maintain that free-market competition improves service and lowers costs. The government also earns money from real estate and corporate income taxes. Those against privatization, however, feel that work quality suffers, workers' salary and security are comprised, and costs rise due to initial low bids and later expenses. Selling government assets reduces the government's size and leads to decreased government efficiency.

Article Abstract:
The concept of family is undergoing changes in the US. Family issues have even taken the forefront in the 1992 US Presidential elections. Traditional concepts of family and cohabitation are being questioned. This is due to an increase in the segment of the population that practices non-traditional living arrangements such as domestic partnerships. Proponents of domestic partnership argue that government policy should be based on present social realities.
