A panel of Canadian and American nutritional scientists recommended increasing the standards for dietary calcium and advised people aged 50 or older to consumer 1,200 mg each day. Supplements and adding calcium to the food supply are two possibilities for improving the nutrition of Canadians.

The fine print: product labels are often misleading
Article Abstract:
Many food labels are misleading or do not contain information on nutritional components such as fat and iron content. Canada currently does not require food makers to supply nutritional information on the product unless it makes a claim such as low-fat or light.
