Should individuals with HIV be discharged from the military?

Article Abstract:

Some people think that HIV-infected military personnel should not be allowed to serve because they are permanently non-deployable, while others believe people with HIV can perform important functions in the military. U.S. Rep. Robert K. Dornan (R-California) has sponsored a provision that would mandate the military discharge of HIV-infected personnel. A spokesperson for the AIDS Action Council believes HIV-infected people should be kept in the military like other people who have chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer.

Should U.S. military assistance to Israel be reduced or eliminated?

Article Abstract:

Israel no longer needs US military assistance, according to some analysts The country's armed forces are among the six most powerful in the world, and it is a highly developed country. Its contiguous neighbors, excepting Syria and Lebanon, have signed peace treaties. On the other hand, the country can be seen as a tiny island of democracy and Western values surrounded by Islamic dictatorships armed with chemical/biological weapons, and terrorism against Israel has been continuous.
