The rebel son
Article Abstract:
Malaysia's Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed has put a barricade around the markets of the country in a desperate attempt to bring economic revival. The trading of the currency, the ringgit, has been curtailed in foreign markets to make it more difficult for non-Malaysians to trade the stocks of the country. Interest rates were lowered. Mahathir has banished his heir apparent, Anwar Ibrahim, after a 15-year partnership in which he was treated as a son, and removed him as deputy and Finance Minister with allegations of sexual misconduct and possibly violations of national security. Anwar wanted to bring Malaysia into the global system.

The case for Hong Kong

Hong Kongers believe in the freedom to publish anything, buy any stock, and pay less taxes. Above all, they believe there is more money to be made in Hong Kong than Singapore.
