Only two Canadian papers reported on a major diplomatic gaffe involving PM Jean Chretien and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Upon Chretien's arrival in Egypt to attend the Summit of the Peacekeepers, the RCMP argued for 40 minutes with the Egyptians about the security measures provided for the prime minister.
