Tiffany snags Aber stake

Tiffany and Co of NY has reached an agreement to acquire a 14.3% stake in Aber Resources Ltd of Vancouver for $104 million. The acquisition gives the American jeweller a foothold in Canada's diamond mining industry. The deal gives Tiffany eight million treasury shares at $13 per share in the Canadian firm. The US jeweller also secures the right to Aber's Diavik diamond project, which has the potential to be a major producer in the future.
