Car maker hopes new Focus will boost fortunes
Article Abstract:
Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd introduced the new Focus compact car and its 2000 product lineup to dealers and reporters on Sep 8, 1999. Ford announced that it already has 10,000 orders for the Focus, a car which it hopes will revive its sales in the passenger car market. The 2000 model year is crucial for Ford since the Focus is its completely new car for this decade and because it will no longer market its cars via the Mercury brand when Lincoln-Mercury dealerships convert to Ford outlets.
