Toyota thinking long-term
Article Abstract:
Toyota Motor Co intends to push through with its long-term plan to increase its production capacity in North America in 2001 despite the dismal sales of new cars and trucks in late 2000. The Japanese automaker aims to reach a production capacity of 1.45 million vehicles a year from 2000's 1.25 million. Toyota also plans to find ways to manufacture vehicles at more reasonable budgets, as it sees Korean automakers are able to accomplish this.
