Article Abstract:

The Northern Ireland peace talks ended with a historic agreement, the first broad-based agreement since 1960s. The agreement required each side to compromise. A poll revealed party backing is crucial to the success of the agreement when it goes to voters in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic on May 22, 1998. The Stormont agreement will be tested by the ability of warring communities to put aside their differences.
