The third-generation of mobile telephones has reached a maturity level as Australia's three mobile companies, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, are enhancing their mobile devices to face the challenge Hutchison Telecommunications' 3 has posed before them. While there are about 70 3G networks globally, an estimate by handset manufacturer Nokia shows that the 20 million subscribers at the end of the year 2004 would grow to 70 million within a year.

Loving pandas to death
Article Abstract:
In 1974, when the Chinese authorities discovered that there were only 145 pandas living in the Wolong Forest, they created a reserve to ensure the pandas' survival. Scientists have recently discovered, however, that the panda population has declined since the reserve was created, and this decline has been caused by tourism.
