A period of rapid transformation
Article Abstract:
Australians in 1983 recognized the value of investing in managed funds following the two-year economic recession. The market rise was as a result of declining interest rates in the US and the election of the Hawke government which devalued the Australian dollar. Banking deregulation gave way to easy credit and takeovers. The 1987 stockmarket crash adjusted values, collapsed some companies, and strengthened those which were managed well.
