Ten years after the fall
Article Abstract:
Investment professionals recall their response to the Oct 1987 share market crash. Wall Street was affected first and only hours later the Australian market fell. Some fundamentals, such as fear and greed, are the same in 1997 as they were in 1987. However, in 1997 interest rates are low, the economy is booming, there are few foreign trade problems and no threat of nuclear war.
