Help for the caregiving grandparent

An increasing number of grandparents are finding it necessary to raise their grandchildren, and this procedure is often difficult because of financial, legal, and housing complications. The American Assn of Retired Persons provides assistance through the Grandparent Information Center.

Let's set the record straight

Article Abstract:

Both Social Security and Medicare are vital programs for millions of Americans and should not be subject to political or budget-cutting whims. Social Security is self-funded and does not add to the deficit. The rising cost of Medicare, however, may need wide-reaching cost containment.
