Article Abstract:
The top three categories that outperformed the 2005 market such as natural resources, precious metals, and Japan stock were the worst performers in February 2006. This was largely due to the substantial drop in the price of oil (more than $5 per barrel), a slightly less sharp drop in gold prices, and the blowback from the scandal surrounding Japan's Livedoor. On the other hand, health-care, communication and financial sectors saw upswings.
