Keep your eyes open: scams against older Americans are on the rise
Article Abstract:
Older Americans are becoming increasingly more susceptible to a variety of telemarketing, investment and house repair scams. They are unable to distinguish between legitimate and fraudulent sales pitches. They may feel pressured by callers who market bogus charities, mailbox scams and deceptive lotteries. Federal and local agencies are increasing their efforts to protect citizens against the deceptive practices.
