Beating the tax office in Australia is a goal of many investors, and there are various concessions for those who know what they are and how to claim them. Rebates, called offsets by the tax office and available to those with low income or with low-income dependents, are worth more than deductions. Suggestions are given for students, for those trying to get started, for those with children, and for those who can afford not to work.
