More level playing field for funds
Article Abstract:
A proposed change to Australian tax treatment of fixed trusts would take effect July 1, 2001, and would put managed fund investors in the same tax situation as those investing directly in shares of stock and other assets. Direct and indirect investors would still be treated somewhat differently with regard to capital gains tax (CGT).
