A columnist and author describes the events which led his introduction to the works of three writers who inspired him. The works of Edgar Allan Poe, Dylan Thomas and John Steinbeck attracted him to a literary world during tough times in his life and resulted in a successful career, for which he is still thankful and appreciative.
