Australian bond and fixed interest funds have produced between 4% and 5% returns in 2004 but a group of fixed interest funds have produced a return of 13.5% for the year end 2004. Funds based on corporate credit to the retail market have the potential for higher returns than bond funds but investors should understand that they are taking on a different set of risks before they take the plunge.
