Many companies have launched master trusts, wrap accounts and separately managed accounts, collectively known as platforms, to meet demand for sophisticated administration systems from adviser and for wider investment choice from investors.

Shareholders win bank case
Article Abstract:
A Federal Court test case against the Commissioner of Taxation involved an off-market share buyback by St. George Bank that was won by more than 100,000 shareholders in the bank due to Helen McNeil's court challenge. According to the judgment, at the time of the buyback in early 2001, every St. George Bank shareholder had crucial tax implications.
