Putnam market-timing payout grows
Article Abstract:
Putnam has disclosed that its final tab for settling state and federal market-timing charges have increased to $153.5 million, which is likely to be paid by the end of summer 2005. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will be adopting a new rule that will be allowing, but not requiring, mutual funds to charge redemption fees of no more than 2% on shares of funds held for less than seven days. The SEC has issued a deficient letter to the Phoenix Companies PNX.
